Take flight and plan a trip to the Palm Springs Air Museum! There is so much to see and do here, that makes this a must-see for those who are interested in all things aviation. This history museum is dedicated to educating visitors about the role air power played in preserving American liberties and way of life. There is always something new to see here, so if you are visiting the Palm Springs area soon you have to check out the Palm Springs Air Museum.
The Palm Springs Air Museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of static and flyable aircrafts from World War II through the War on Terror. You can also expect to explore their aircrafts up close and personal since they do not have them roped off like most typical museums. Not only can you explore all the aircrafts housed here, you can experience exhibits and activities that will give you a whole new perspective on the history of US Military operations over the last 100 years.
To highlight a few hangars you can see in this museum, there is the Pacific Hangar. This includes exhibits and aircrafts used by the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. There is also the B-17 Hangar, which includes their aircraft B-17G “Miss Angela” that visitors can tour as well as exhibits relating to this aircraft. Another hangar option to explore is the Korean and Vietnam Hangar that features aircrafts used during these wars.
Tickets can be purchased online or in person, since they are not date specific. The hours of the museum are daily from 10am to 5pm. They do recommend carving out at least 2 hours of your day to explore everything the museum has to offer, so be sure to plan ahead when purchasing your tickets.
